I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving with families and friends. Were you able to take pictures? Don’t forget to download those pics and have them printed so you can scrap those memories. :) My Thanksgiving was great spent with family and friends.

The weekend after we closed was very busy with clearing and cleaning the last bit of stuff to take away from the store. Allen already handed the keys over to the management. The real first weekend without the store is coming up this weekend. And yes, I do plan to occupy myself with lots of things in and around the house...yes, I already plan to be busy this coming weekend... :)

Scrapper's Friend Scrapbook Store CLOSING

Yes, Folks, we are closing. Our last STORE DAY is Sunday, Nov 23. We are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please do stop by and avail of the great discounts. Here's an excerpt of the toughest newsletter we had to write to everyone in our email list:

"...I have to deliver news that I didn’t want to do, but all good things must come to an end and ours, reaching its mark. This is the last month our store, Scrapper’s Friend Scrapbook Store, will be open. Our lease ends on November 30th and our store’s last day will be on Sunday, November 23.

My top and utmost reason in finally throwing in the towel and closing the store is to get back to being healthy for my family. As most of you know, I’m diabetic and it’s been uncontrolled for several years now, worst the last year. I need to face my “monster” in the eye and beat it. I hope by slowing down that I can succeed in doing so. Please pray that I do.

Second reason is for my family. The kids are growing too fast. In fact, Alex is a HS Senior and he will be graduating at the end of the school year. I feel I’m missing out on them to the point where I don’t have enough pictures to play with! LOL!

There have been some of you asking me about the store closure, but have told you that we’re still deciding. The real answer should have been, I was still deciding. While Scrapper’s Friend had long decided to close when the lease is up, I was still undecided and trying to hold on as I was still having a ball with the store and playing with everyone.

I was desperately trying to make it work and looking at the numbers hoping that the store will eventually sustain itself, even tried to look for smaller locations. But with the economy going the way it is (third and final reason), I just can’t without stressing and putting my family’s finances in further jeopardy. But, I’m not giving up and will still continue with a website and attending events.

As most of you know, our store has actually two stores in it; Scrapper’s Friend owned by Estrella and Allen Wolfe, and Scrapbooks Hawaii owned by yours truly. We are going back to our roots, attending events and selling through our websites.

I’d like to thank everyone who supported our store and please avail of the discounts between now until our last store day on Sunday, November 23. We also hope that you continue supporting us and look forward to continue serving you as we go back selling through our websites and events."

Friends, we also still have 12x12 Paper Racks in 30, 12 and 10 slots that are for sale. These are great for home use to sort and organize your papers. We also have some 3 4-panel spinners and slatwall hooks available. These are great for cardmakers and crafters to hang your products occupying a small space during craft fairs and other events.

SCRAP PINK and CLASSES this WEEKEND

We are celebrating Scrap Pink this weekend at the store. I have sent an email with coupons and discounts for this weekend's Scrap Pink celebration. If you haven't received your email with coupons and discounts, please email me at scrapbooks@hawaii.rr.com to request for this email.

Happy Scrapper's Jam!

Are you ready to Jam? If you are, please don’t forget that this coming Saturday, September 20th, will be Happy Scrapper’s Jam! It’ll be at the Koolau Golf Course from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

So, what do we have in store for you??? TONS!!! Scrapbooks Hawaii will be there bringing in lots of products all for your scrapping pleasure. We will also be having a make and take and other great surprises. Can’t tell you now, though, then it won’t be a surprise, huh? :)

I’ll also be teaching a class at the Jam. It’s a cute CD album with flaps to boot! My class will start at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sorry it took me a while to update our blog. I went to the PHilippines early this month to have fun with the scrappers there. We had two SCRAPJAMSm, one in Manila and the other in Angeles City. Both events were a success. Please visit scrapbookshawaii.multiply.com to view the event pictures.

Tutorial on Border Punches

Hello Friends,

We have brought in TONS of Fiskars border punches in the store. We also have the elusive Fiskars Treading Water Border Punch, Lace, Give it Swirl, etc. Below is a quick tutorial I found that could be useful to all who are not quite familiar with border punches. BTW, before you play the video tutorial, please make sure to click on the speaker on the store slide (shown on the upper right side of the screen) to turn off the music. Enjoy!

Just thought I'd share my Father's day cards...ok, picture this...it's approx. 2:45 p.m. on Sunday and the store closes at 3 p.m. We have to run home to cook dinner for our dad and guess what??? NO CARDS!!! YIKES!!!

Thank God, for the store! ;-) I took 3 papers from our TLC line, the Autumn Leaves Father's Day Stamps, Frost White pigment ink by Colorbox, scallop punch, Black pigment ink by colorbox, Versamark Watermark, Ranger Clear embossing powder, and Heidi Swapp acrylic block...and here are my card a little after 3 p.m. Whew!!!

Now, dinner you ask? Hmmmm...I did make it home in time to grill some steaks and let's just say Hubby had to eat his very well done steak. After all I slaved over a grill on FIRE for those blackened steaks! Thank goodness, the corn were in foil!!!LOL! :D

JUNE CLASSES

They’re squishy, they roll, and they slide…ok, now, get that head out of the gutter! These are Myra’s cards. LOL! :) Yes, we were able to finally get Myra to teach a class. Create 3 cards with Myra using stamps and various techniques that will squish, roll and slide. Class will be on Saturday, June 14 from 1-3 p.m. Class fee $7.00 (to be paid to Myra)

You missed my 5 for $5 card classes? Ok, I’m bringing that back. We’re going to use some of the latest cute toys in the store and more! 5 cards for $5 class will be on Saturday, June 21 from 1-2 p.m.

I’ve also had some requests for 12x12 page layouts. So, let's try that class, too. Come and join me as we create these cute layouts for either a boy or girl. We will be creating a two-page layout. Please bring your basic tool kit (trimmer, scissors, wet and dry adhesives, ruler and pencil). Class will be on Saturday, Jun 21, from 2-4 p.m. Class fee: $15
